House

About a week ago I had a relatively minor operation on my knee. While this provides some definite set-backs for me- It gave me the opportunity to use a cane. For those of you who have not had this privilege, let me tell you it is quite a liberating experience. These are some of my observations:
  • People are incredibely nice to me now. I feel like I own the place when I waltz in with my cane because people kindly move out of the way when I'm walking, give me concerned smiles, and always hold open doors for me.
  • I can do no wrong. No matter what happens people give me the benefit of the doubt because I am "cripple"
  • I get asked out. People must be attracted to the beauty of my cane. That or they feel bad for me. haha
  • I get one of two reactions from people on campus when they see my cane. First, Some people ask if I can wave my cane around like President Hinckley and Second, they tell me I walk like the guy on House. Both were unexpected reactions- but enjoyable nonetheless.

My first post

Hello friends and fellow bloggers! Welcome to my very first post. I have been meaning to create this beauty for quite some time and finally it happened! To begin I feel like I should provide a brief explanation as to where the name shameless peppers came from. Here we go.

It is a well known fact in my apartment that I have a little something called "no shame."
Basically all this means is that I don't get embarassed of myself or others. This trait definitely has its ups and downs but overall I would say it provides for some good entertainment for my friends and other fellow spectators. Truthfully I don't think I do anything socially unacceptable, but then again I am shameless. The following picture is actually one example of something that happened tonight:

This is me trying to take a picture of Cody and Liz in front of the temple... let's just say having a gimp leg makes it a little difficult to successfully take a picture where you have to bend down. Luckily someone was there to capture this potentially shameful moment.

The name peppers comes from my love for bell peppers! Not only do I love them- but according to my roommates I talk about it everytime I eat them. Strange? Maybe. But sometimes I just forget and find myself asking them "Did you know I like peppers?" on a somewhat regular basis. They were patient with me for a while but now it is just a running joke that I have a wierd obsession for peppers.

So there you have it..... that is the story behind shamelesspeppers.
